Our Mission
Aurora 121 supports and empowers those affected by domestic abuse, honour-based abuse, and forced marriage in the UK. This encompasses individuals in crisis due to cultural crimes, regardless of gender, religion, or background. We collaborate with victims, survivors, agencies, policymakers, and communities.
Our main objective is to assist victims and survivors, especially those isolated or in hard-to-reach areas. Aurora 121 briefs policymakers and agencies to prompt/encourage reporting incidences and gaps in victim provisions. We advocate for victims who face cultural and other barriers such as language, lack of support, fear of reprisals, and inadequate response or action from frontline agencies.
Aurora provides either face-to-face or online advocacy, including visits to organisations where specialist support is deemed appropriate. The course of action undertaken may involve acquisition of – forced marriage protection orders, supporting children going into care- facilitating care transition for affected children, and providing comprehensive guidance to victims throughout the criminal prosecution process, to ensure successful convictions.
